Object to the HUTA "Take" Proposal!
Below is CSAC’s most recent letter to the Governor and legislative leadership regarding the proposal to “take” local gas tax revenues in the next two state budgets. This letter can be used to craft county specific letters to the Governor and your legislative delegation to convey the devastating affects it would have across California. Please update the letter to include county specific information on the following and send to the Governor, legislative leadership, and your Assembly Members and Senators A.S.A.P.:

Monetary losses to your county – both in direct losses and loss of matching funds;

Job losses to your department and other county departments;

High profile project impacts, if any;

Critical safety impacts; and

Anything else pertinent to get the attention of your legislative delegation.
We also still urge you to reach out to your local media to educate them and shed light on the impacts of the proposal on your communities.
